Pentax X-5 is bridge camera boasts a 26x (22.3-580mm) superzoom lens covering ultra-wide-angle to super-telephoto ranges. Other highlights include 16MP backlit CMOS sensor, sensor-shift image stabilization, 3-inch tiltable LCD screen, Electronic Viewfinder, 1080p full-HD video and 10fps burst shooting. This all-in-one digital camera lets photographers capture beautiful, high-quality images of a wide variety of subjects and scenes with minimal effort.

The DSLR-like X-5 featuring a powerful high-magnification optical 26x zoom lens offers great focal-length coverage from 22.3mm ultra-wide angle to 580mm super telephoto. In addition, the camera features a Macro mode, which lets the photographer capture dramatic close-up images of subjects as near to the lens as 1cm (0.4-inch). The X-5 is the ideal compact travel companion for photo enthusiasts who want a camera with them wherever they go that's capable of taking every type of image from gorgeous portraits, to scenic landscapes to extreme close-ups and more.

The X-5 camera's dual shake reduction system couples the PENTAX developed mechanical sensor-shift-type Shake Reduction (SR) mechanism with a digital SR mode to more effectively compensate for annoying camera shake. This hybrid system ensures the photographer captures sharp, blur-free images even in the most challenging camera-shake prone and low lighting conditions.

The X-5 incorporates a high performance 16.0 megapixels back-illuminated (BSI) CMOS image sensor. Combined with the state-of-the-art image processing engine, the camera demonstrates remarkably high-sensitivity, low-noise characteristics and assures high-speed image data readout to deliver clear, super-high-resolution images.

The X-5 equipped with a large tiltable 3.0-inch, 460k-dots LCD screen that offers sharp image viewing, even in bright sunlight. Its construction allows the photographer to tilt the screen up and down and set it at the angle easiest for viewing.

The X-5 also features a 260k-dot resolution electronic viewfinder with diopter adjustment for a clear view of the subject even under bright sunshine. This comes in handy when shooting a subject in harsh backlight or when the photographer needs a more solid hold of the camera.

Pentax X-5 features the Full HD movie recording function, The user can high-quality 1080p full HD video at 30 FPS with high quality h.264 compression. It also offers creative movie playback features, such as High-speed Movie mode for slow-motion playback and Time-lapse Movie mode for fast-forward playback.

The X-5 lets the user quickly and effortlessly select the desired shooting mode - from a total of 10 modes including the hands-off Auto Picture, Scene, Program, Manual, Landscape and Handheld Night Snap - with a single turn of the mode dial, without having to access the on-screen menu.

The Auto Picture mode, which automatically assesses the subject's conditions and selects the most appropriate shooting mode from 16 distinctive shooting options, including Landscape, Portrait, Candlelight and Pet. It even comes with an Auto Macro function, which automatically switches the focus mode to Macro when it detects the subject is close to the lens.
